I think that the bible is corrupt. I mean, it was written by ancient, misogynistic, uneducated men who thought they knew what God wanted from people. But they didn’t really know God. No one does. They just chose customs from their culture that they assumed to be distracting from godliness to be sinful. However, times change. And so does culture. In fact, the only part of the bible that God wrote himself were the ten commandments. And those rules basically say to love and respect one another. God himself never said anything about ways to keep your hair, your fetus, your sexuality, etc etc… Man did.
Some christians today will pick and choose which rules to follow from the bible, and they’re hypocrites. Some Christians follow all the rules, and they don’t fit in with modern society. However, some Christians will follow the expectations of love by God (as indicated by the ten commandments), and disregard every bad reputation that man has given him (including the old testament). I follow the latter.
Ghandi said “I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.”
Christianity has always had a bad rep because of its incompetent leaders who create incompetent followers. The goal is (and has always been) to be like Christ. Not to be like Moses/Abraham/etc. But it’s hard to find a Christian who understands that.
If I have to mow it every 5 days, it just seems pointless to keep cutting it. I wish it was like choosing to shave your body every few days or wax every 6 weeks. Can’t I just go out there with some wax and a giant rag and get it over with? This way, I won’t have to spend 2-3 hours in 110 degrees to stall what will grow back tomorrow.
“Veganism is not difficult. What is difficult is living with yourself knowing that you are participating in the exploitation of the innocent. What is difficult is maintaining the incredible denial required to justify non-veganism.”—Gary L. Francioneai (via mandarinandseoul)
